This project was collaboration with textile designer Matisse Rendle Mitchell. The piece consigns of five patterns—each a representing a day we spent in Beijing—digitally printed onto fabric. The patterns were generated using air quality monitoring data as inputs into a Perlin noise flow field drawing algorithm. We aimed to create a piece that acts as a provocation; a beautiful object that is created using the equipment of mass manufacturing.
